Knitting Olympics!

Once again, as the 2010 Olympics draw near, it’s time for all knitters near and far to feel apart of the games and compete in our own little way.  The Knitting Olympics – Brainchild of the Yarn Harlot – one of my favorite knitting authors/bloggers, Stephanie Pearl McPhee, is an ambitious undertaking, in which we who participate will cast on a somewhat challenging project during the opening ceremonies, and attempt to finish the last stitch before the torch is extinguished.  17 days to knit.

A noble undertaking, albeit small compared to the years of sacrificial training by the athletes in Vancouver, but still important to those who will attempt this daunting task.  My project will be maple leaf socks, by Jeanne Townsend, and I feel they are a fitting project, since the 2010 Winter Olympics are being held in Vancouver, Canada. 2 days until we begin!
